Support
Step-by-step help for the SubTrack app.
Add a subscription
- On the home screen or the Subscriptions tab, tap Add subscription.
- Enter the service name and the price per billing period, and choose the currency.
- Choose how often it bills (for example every 1 month) and pick the next renewal date.
- Optionally choose a category, add notes or the official cancellation link, then tap Save.
Change a renewal date or other details
Tap the subscription, choose Edit, change the details and save. Its reminder is rescheduled automatically. Use Mark as cancelled or Archive to keep a record without counting it in your spending.
Set up reminders
- In the subscription form, keep Remind me before it renews on and choose how many days before.
- In Settings → Reminders set the reminder time and the default for new subscriptions.
- If Notifications shows “Not allowed”, tap Allow or enable notifications for SubTrack in your phone’s settings.
Premium and restoring purchases
- Buy Premium from Settings → Premium → See Premium. Payment is handled by Google Play or the App Store.
- After reinstalling or on a new phone, tap Restore purchases while signed in to the same store account.
- To cancel, use the subscriptions section of your Google Play or Apple account. Premium stays active until the end of the paid period.
Back up and move your data
- Settings → Your data → Export backup (JSON) creates a file and opens your phone’s share sheet; save it somewhere safe.
- Import backup reads such a file. If a subscription already exists, you choose: keep existing, replace with imported, or keep both.
- Premium: Export spreadsheet (CSV) for use in a spreadsheet app (export only).
- Delete all data removes everything from the device; export first if you might need it.
Troubleshooting
- No reminder appeared: check that notifications are allowed for SubTrack, that the reminder is on for that subscription, and that battery optimisation is not restricting SubTrack. Some phone makers delay background notifications.
- Premium is not shown: make sure you are connected to the internet and signed in to the store account used for the purchase, then tap Restore purchases. A purchase that is still pending payment does not unlock Premium until the store confirms it.
- “Free plan limit reached”: the Free plan allows 3 active subscriptions. Archive one you no longer use, or upgrade. Nothing is deleted.
- Import failed: only SubTrack backup files (.json) can be imported, and the file must not come from a newer version of the app. The message names the first problem found; your existing data is not changed.
- Totals look low: cancelled and archived subscriptions are not counted, and each currency has its own total.
